What did COVID-19 mean to us at Mimoso? Short answer: A LOT!!!
.
.
Well, for me the owner, it meant that Mimoso became my soul source of income, the only job I held after my part-time job became unavailable due to the limitations/restrictions. It was no longer my hobby business but the only source of income to get my bills paid. Which honestly was a blessing for Mimoso + myself!
.
COVID-19 for Mimoso meant I needed to locate, create + ensure quality products to be used by the public to increase their safety through the use of anti-bacterial soaps, hand sanitiser + resourceful information on general safety.

This was a kicker! It cost a lot of money to get high quality + therefore cost too much for my comfort to the consumers. I hope to be able to keep these options available at a lesser price in the future.
I stopped making candles so I could promote the candle sales through other candle dedicated businesses that I admire.
.
COVID-19 meant that our markets were cancelled, meant that we missed our customers + also meant that our delivery options changed too which included contactless delivery. All of which generated drastic income loss to the business that required more advertising + attention.
.
Those are just a few of the kickers from COVID-19 but what it also meant for us at Mimoso, is that we could connect more online with other local businesses to support + encourage the community to support local.
We saw many posts, heartfelt encouragement + support from locals, businesses + strangers too ( many of which brought tears to my eyes, a massive thank you for the encouragement while desperately needed).
.
What COVID-19 taught me is that as a small business I need to invest more time into creating more fun + exciting items to better others well-being. That within the community I need to help others, I need to learn to connect more + more effectively with my other hard working local businesses so we can all grow in our fields.
.
Times like this has shown many tears, both happy + sad along with stress + anxiety but many moments of joy + happiness.
Lastly, thank you for supporting Mimoso, we are grateful + blessed to be a business that is still standing amongst the uncertainty. We encourage that you seek out small businesses, support local + consider how you can be of encouragement to your local sole trader!
.
Looking forward to getting to see you all again (hopefully soon) at the markets! Until then, the online shop is open + sales will be running to support our business.
.
.
From myself + Mimoso fams,
We pray you stay healthy, happy + safe!
