Exciting news for us here at Mimoso! As we start heading to the end of the year, we want to make as much a difference as we can to get the ball rolling for next year for hopefully even bigger things.
So to include you in on the new adventure, we have connected with Westcare located in Penrith, as they have a new project they are working very hard on called 1,000 Safe Sleeps.
This is giving the opportunity to the homeless in the area to sleep safe within a refurbished unit equipped with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, laundry facilities, living rooms and dining room.
With over 105,000 people sleeping homeless over Australia each night, that's 1 in 200 people (according to ABS Census of Population and Housing: Estimating Homelessness, 2011). Westcare have a goal of at least 1,000 safe sleeps per year starting with dedicating the next five years to this cause. So we aim to provide each individual that walks through those doors to sleep safe a health care package.
The health care packages are there for them to use within the home and to take with them to their new home. We offer a range of men's, women's and uni-sex packs and hope to not need but will also have great little packs for the kiddies too.
Whoever walks through those doors, we want to bless them with something personally for them! Something to make a fuss of and help even just a little.
With the sales already made this year, we have been able to make 20 Health Care Packs and are waiting on our first group of people to gift them to.
We hope to be making a big difference in a lot of peoples lives.
So, THANK YOU! Thank you to those who have purchased any Mimoso items and supported our goal to bless and help the homeless. We hope that in the future we will be able to support other suburbs and extend our hand to more people.
It's never too late to get alone side the cause. To contribute in a bigger way head to the GOLDEN HEARTS COLLECTION and purchase any of the items on that page in which all the proceeds will go directly to the care packages.
We are so excited to keep you updated on the Gold Hearts Initiative, so keep an eye on this space!
